Holy. . .Holy. . .Holy

a teaching rhyme
by JD Collier

Holy Holy Holy
the Lord
perfect in Majesty
He was
He is
all future is His
and He
forever will be. . .
His perfection
so perfect
no measure can tell
His unflawed pureness
no wording
can spell
His light
is so
that no preacher
can preach
His highness beyond
universal reach. . .
I stand in awe
then fall to the ground
in the light of
His Presence
my sin
is profound
I can
Holy. . . Holy. . .  Holy
the Lord!

Isaiah’s vision of the Holiness of God:

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.  Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.  And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Isa 6:1-5  NIV

“The moral shock suffered by us through our mighty break with the high will of heaven has left us all with a permanent trauma affecting every part of our nature. . . We cannot grasp the true meaning of the divine holiness by thinking of someone or something very pure and then raising the concept to the highest degree we are capable of.  God’s holiness is not simply the best we know infinitely bettered.  We know nothing like the divine holiness.  It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable.  The natural man is blind to it.  He may fear God’s power and admire His wisdom, but His holiness he cannot even imagine.”  A.
