Who Am I?

a teaching rhyme
by JD Collier

Rescued from the darkness
into the kingdom of light
reconciled by Christ
made holy in His sight

Freed from accusation
forgiven of all my sin
not a single blemish
blameless—sheltered in Him

Seated in the heavens
chosen to join the ranks
heir according to promise
along with the heavenly saints

Made alive in Jesus
redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
His image in a jar of clay
yes that is who I am

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions — it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus . . .”  Eph 2:4-6

“. . .giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Col 1:12-14

“But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—“ Col 1:22 NIV
