“We know that the whole creation has been groaning. . .”  Ro. 8:22

the weeping
the wailing
the planet travailing
ravaged and tattered and torn
the tearing asunder
the buckling under
has left it senescent and worn

the freezing
the warming
the tundra reforming
the fury
the magma flow
upheavals and shifts
the earthquakes
the rifts
violently add to the woe

the flooding
the storming
the locusts
the swarming
the resources stripped away
the mudslides
the trash
the volcanic ash
cyclonic dismay

this aged tired globe
will not be consoled
but wracked with deep pain
it mourns
the drifting
the churning
has left the earth yearning
desiring to be reborn

in desperate straits
it longingly waits
for the promise of His redo
when all will stop shaking
‘transformed’ in the making
a changing
creating anew

the groaning
the waiting
the anticipating
will give in to that which will stay
for as that day dawns
the curse is withdrawn
redeeming from earthly decay

rejoicing and clapping
the world is remapping
creating more wondrous displays
as nature surrenders
and no longer hinders
but joins in the chorus of praise

the rising
the taming
the blissness
the joy of the Lord fills the earth
the depth of
the meaning
as all begin singing
resplendent elysian rebirth

there’s no more concealing
the mystery revealing
the plan that He had all along
to bring the earth healing
the sons of His ‘sealing’
together in one glorious song

the dying
the faithing
the loving
the saving
Jesus–crowned King of it all
in Him is the gifting
the eternal  lifting
reborn. . . .
to such joyous enthrall

~JD Collier

“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. . . in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”  Ro. 8:19-20  NIV
